FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS.
WHY DO I NEED GUTTERS?
|
Rain gutters or Eavestroughs collect the rainwater coming off of your roof. With the help of downspouts, they redirect the water to an area of your property which has good, safe drainage. Without rain gutters water can damage wood fascia boards and rafters, collect or pool against your homes foundation, splash into your garden or flower beds leaving unsightly stains on you stucco or siding. It can damage doors or windows and many other water related issues. Rain gutters also add beauty and value to your property.

WHAT ARE SEAMLESS GUTTERS?
|
Seamless or Continuous rain gutters are gutters which are custom formed at your property using a seamless gutter machine. Each piece of rain gutter is cut specifically for your home. Before seamless rain gutter machines were available, they had to be brought to your home in 10-12 foot sections and pieced together for the long sections of your home. For example, if your home is 80 feet long, A-Plus will manufacture a length of rain gutter which is one continuous piece 80 feet long SEAMLESSLY. The old method of installing gutters would have to be pieced together in 6-8 separate pieces. That would mean your gutters would have 6-8 seams and 6-8 areas of possible future leaks. Corners, Miters or turns in your gutter system are the only areas that can not be made seamlessly. A-Plus Gutter Systems HAND CUTS every "corner" or "miter" insuring that you get the best quality and cleanest looking rain gutter system available today.

WHAT ARE HAND CUT CORNERS?
|
There are a couple of methods used in the rain gutter industry to make a "corner" or "turn" in your gutter system. The most common method is to use a pre fabricated corner, often referred to as a "box miter". Box miters are screwed on to 2 adjoining lengths of gutter. If installed and sealed properly, box miters can and do work however because each box miter actually produces 3 seams, They have a higher potential for future leaks.
Box miters tend to look sloppy and un-proffesional as well. "Hand cut corners" are crafted on the spot using a process of cutting the gutter on a precise angle and overlapping the 2 ends. After trimming off any excess metal, the result is a single seam, clean and professional looking corner. Hand cut corners do require more skills, more patience & more accurate measurements, however, the end result is well worth it. At A-Plus Gutter Systems we believe that you deserve ONLY the highest quality materials and installation techniques available today. Every corner in your A-Plus gutter system will be hand cut and custom made for your home. |

I WORK DURING THE DAY, DO I NEED TO BE HOME FOR THE ESTIMATE?
|
No, we can come by your home during the day, inspect your home, take measurements and begin to put together an estimate. We prefer however, that you are home for the estimate so that we can discuss the installation process, downspout locations, colors and any challenges we may face at you particular property. We also like to establish the gutter or downspout shape that you prefer and weather or not your home might benefit from leaf protection. We would be glad to come to your home on a weekend if that makes it easier for you to be home for the estimate.

HOW MUCH DO YOU CHARGE PER FOOT?
|
This is a very common question. The answer however is not so simple. Some companies like to lure you in with the promises of a low low price per foot. Be cautious, sometimes there are hidden charges which are not included in that base rate. Also, keep in mind that you may be trading quality workmanship and quality materials for that low price. At A-Plus we price the job individually. Factors which contribute to the final price are...
1) Material type: (aluminum is generally the most economical and copper prices are constantly changing) 2) The type of roof you have: (tile roofs are generally a bit more because they cannot be walked on as easily as a composition roof) 3) The height of your home: (single story homes will give you lower rates than a 2 or 3 story home) 4) Trees, wires, and other obstacles: (the more obstacles there are in our way the longer the job will take) At A-Plus you are guaranteed to get your moneys worth. We use more brackets than most companies, we use longer and thicker screws than most companies, we hand cut every corner. |
HOW LONG IS MY WARRANTY?
